Created by Dr Arani Bose, an interventional neuroradiologist of Columbia Hospital (NYC), the company Penumbra has been a pioneer in the development of high-technology intracranial access catheters, in the use of nitinol for embolisation of brain aneurysms and in the development of the revolutionary system of thrombectomy by direct mechanical aspiration for the treatment of acute ischaemic STROKE.
Penumbra is currently going through an expansion process towards new product lines also with an innovative approach.
